Dusting Off The Cobwebs And Reactivating My Blog

Hey everyone. I told you that it wouldn't be 3 years between posting again. Hope everyone is doing well. As you all know, I am really into weight lifting and bodybuilding. Over the last 6 months my passion and interest has been renewed. I have been working with a coach/trainer and have gotten to the point where I want to step on stage and compete. It is my plan to compete in the Over 40 Masters/Novice class in September 2014 at the Westchester Classic ANBF show. Follow my journey here as I transform my physique and prepare for the show. Also I will be talking about natural bodybuilding in general and posting links to YouTube Channels, photos of my progress and recommending supplements. Stay tuned for the next update.

Remember, this blog is published infrequently in Spanglish. I promise it won't be 3 years until my next post. Until then, cuidate.

The Ingredients For a Happy and Complete Life.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to have a happy and perfect life? I think we all have. Is it all the material things? Is it the non-material things? Looking back over the course of my life and experiences I have concluded there are 4 essentials needed to make one's life complete. Allow me to share them with you. You need that one special person to share and live your life with, a job that you like and don't mind getting up and going to everyday, a job that pays you enough where you don't have to live paycheck to paycheck and can support your family, and lastly 2 or 3 really good and true friends that will always be there for you, no matter what. If you have these things then what else do you really need?? Myself, I have 3 of these 4. All I am missing is that special someone in my life. Although I think I may have found her. What do you guys think is essential for a complete and happy life?? Agree with me? Or am I way off?

Felicidades Melky!

Congratulations to Yankees outfielder Melky Cabrera on hitting for the cycle yesterday in Chicago. For those of you who don't know what that means, hitting for the cycle is when a batter hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run. This is very hard to do and is a rare occurrence in baseball. The last Yankee to accomplish this was Tony Fernandez, another Dominicano, back in 1995. Does anybody now doubt that Dominicans are the best baseball players on the planet? Once again, felicidades Melky. Dale Melky, dale fuerza.

Next week brings a change to my work schedule which will allow me to get back to the gym on a much more regular and frequent basis. I will be there bright and early, 5 am, when the gym opens. Going at that time is great. It's a little tough getting up at 4:30, but you get used to it. No need to hit the gym at night when it's super crowded. The other great benefit to going at that time is it allows me to set up my diet and properly to achieve my goals through out the day. My goals to accomplish by 9/10 are to slash my bodyfat by 30%, get my bench press back to where it was before I had some issues with my left shoulder, and add a little muscle to my weak spots like much upper chest and arms.

Thanks for stopping by and reading. See you guys again real soon. Until then stay strong, stay fit, and lets go Yankees.

Today's Rant

Guys who don't flush the urinal. Really? How friggin' hard is it do this? It can't more than half a second. I have no interest in seeing your pee that you left behind. Where have common courtesy and manners gone? Maybe these guys are just being lazy?? Do you not flush the toilet in your own home? And one more thing, wash your hands after going to the bathroom. Savages.

The Dominican Republic. A Beautiful Place.

Hey folks, how is everyone? I know it has been a while. Last week I was back "home" in Santiago, Dominican Republic. That was my 24th trip in the last 4 and a half years. Think I like the place? There is no other place in the world like it. It's such a beautiful country. One of the first things you notice as you fly in, is how green everything is. Trees and plants everywhere.

Spending time in Santiago is really not like being on vacation at all. I have many good friends who live there, both Dominican and expats. For those who don't know, an expat is somebody from one country who now lives in another country. My life is totally normal there. I visit friends' homes, go to the movies, and just relax in the apartment I rent.

I encourage everyone to visit this wonderful place. But if you do, please get out of the all-inclusive resorts. They are la la land and no more representative of the Dominican Republic than Disneyworld is of the US.

Enjoy the fotos of DR I have posted.

Lesssons Learned

Hey everyone. How are you. I know it's been awhile since we spoke last. A lot has been going on.

I learned an important and valuable lesson the hard way. The words of "friends and acquaintances" can have an impact on the way you as a person are perceived and judged. My sincerest apologies to JO. So my advice is to pay close attention to what these people say and do so as to protect your reputation. Once that is damaged, it will be a long time before it fixed in some people's eyes, if ever.

I am heading "home" this week. Not my actual home, but the place I consider to be my second home. Santiago, Dominican Republic. Hopefully I will have lots of good pictures and stories to share when I get back. I am looking forward to seeing old friends and spending time in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Until next time.
